Chapel Hill/Carrboro Crop Walk

During the past quarter century over $1 million has been raised by the Chapel Hill/Carrboro CROP Hunger. This walk supports hunger relief efforts both locally and internationally. Locally, the event helps the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service offer three meals each day at the Community Kitchen and provide much-needed groceries to at-risk families in the community. It also helps fund the excellent work that Church World Service does around the world

The walk is a four mile stroll along the streets of Chapel Hill and Carrboro and through the UNC campus. A shorter route also is available. Entertainment and snacks will be provided.

The 25th Annual Chapel Hill/Carrboro CROP Hunger Walk will be March 27, 2011, beginning and ending at the Carrboro Town Commons. Registration is at 1:30 and the walk begins at 2:30.

Help end hunger one step at a time. Sign up to walk, or support the "IFC Striders" or other groups or individuals as they walk at: www.cropwalkonline.org/chapelhillnc

Also, if you or someone you know like to help recruit walkers from your congregation or organization CROP Walk "Step 1" sessions will be held Feb 10 (7pm) and Feb 12 (10am) at the Carrboro IFC building. Attend either one to get information, strategies, tips, and materials that will make you a successful recruiter. For more info, contact Rex at 919-929-6380 x20 or cropwalk@ifcmailbox.org.
